Eliza Carthy and Martin Green played Martin’s tune in 2001 on their album Dinner. And Eliza Carthy, violin, octave violin; Martin Green, piano accordion, programming; Ben Ivitsky,violin, viola; and Saul Rose, diatonic accordion, played it on Eliza Carthy and Nancy Kerr’s compilation album On Reflection.

Martin Green commented in the first album’s sleeve notes:

Fen I wrote for Eliza after accidentally ending up in a focus group on rural redevelopment in the Fens of East Anglia. More things than I ever would have thought possible have happened in the Fens.
