Coronation Jig

The Coronation Jig was played live by the Albion Country Band #2 at “The Howff”, London, on 31 December 1972. The Albion Morris Men danced, John Watcham played Anglo concertina, Simon Nicol electric guitar, and Roger Swallow drums. This recording was included in Shirley Collins’s 1974 Topic album, Adieu to Old England. According to the sleeve notes,

[t]he Tune is Here’s Health Unto His Majesty, a composition by Jeremiah Savile, dating from 1660, when Charles II was called back from his exile in Holland.
