Stephen’s Leaving / The Jolly Fucker / Rörospols
[Martin Green / Martin Green / Trad.]
Played by Eliza Carthy and Martin Green on their album Dinner. Martin Green said in the record’s sleeve notes:
Stephen’s Leaving commemorates the departure of the finest house mate after not enough years. The second tune was written in memorably foul mood, and the third tune was learnt (stolen) from the playing of Karen Tweed and Ian Carr, heroes to all lovers of the bizarre and beautiful. The tune is originally a Norwegian polska, but I squared the edges off.
