The Story
The Whispering Road is essentialy made from two stories. The first, written by Helena Nyblom in around 1897, is called The Ring, and was evidently based on Swedish folkore. The second is a version of the story The Giant With No Heart in His Body widely found across northern Europe, but most famously collected in Norway by Asbjørnsen and Moe.

Terpsichore is a collection of 312 French style dances published in 1612 by Michael Praetorius. The suites are a mix of original compositions by Pierre Francisque Caroubel and also melodies provided by Antoine Emeraud and harmonised by Praetorius. This recording draws on four of the suites:

Suites 32 and 2 - Emeraud, arr Praetorius
Recorded and edited by Vicki Swan during the Covid 19 pandemic in August 2020;
