June Tabor recorded Beat the Retreat accompanied by Martin Carthy, acoustic guitar, James Burton, electric guitar, David Lindley, electric slide guitar, Danny Thompson, double bass and D.J. Bonebrake, drums, as title track of the Richard Thompson tribute album, Beat the Retreat. This track was also included in the June Tabor anthology Always.
