Rag Doll

[Bob Crewe, Bob Gaudio]

Steeleye Span recorded this 1964 #1 hit of The Four Seasons during their 1972 America tour with session drummer Hal Blaine (who had played on many of Elvis Presley’s recordings). This recording was produced by Dick Glasser of Everly Brothers fame. It was first released in 1978 as a UK single with the B-side Saucy Sailor, and appeared in the U.S. in the same year as a bonus track on the Live at Last! album, replacing Bonnets So Blue from the UK version of this album.

This recording was re-released in 1995 on Chrysalis’ 2 CD Steeleye Span compilation, Spanning the Years, and in 1999 on the Raven anthology A Rare Collection 1972-1996.
