Lyrics

It was on Christmas Day
And all in the morning,
Our Saviour was born,
And our Heavenly King.
And was not this a joyful thing,
And sweet Jesus they called Him by name.

It was on the same Day
And all in the morning,
Shepherds were led
To our Heavenly King.
And was not this a joyful thing,
And sweet Jesus they called Him by name.

It was on the Twelfth Day
And all in the morning,
Wise Men were led
To our Heavenly King.
And was not this a joyful thing,
And sweet Jesus they called Him by name.

It was on Holy Wednesday
And all in the morning,
Judas betrayed
Our dear Heavenly King.
And was not this a woeful thing,
And sweet Jesus we called Him by name.

For thirty silver pieces
He sold our saviour
And Peter thrice denied
Our dear Heavenly King.
And was not this a woeful thing,
And sweet Jesus we called Him by name.

It was on Sheer Thursday
And all in the morning,
They laid a crown of thorns
On our Heavenly King.
And was not this a woeful thing,
And sweet Jesus we called Him by name.
