This composition is based upon research and writing Bella undertook as British Council and PRS for Music Foundation Musician in Residence in Yunnan Province, China between November and December 2015. ‘Eternal Spring’ was completed and performed in Kunming, May 2017 with help from British Council’s ‘Connections Through Culture’.

Promo Video

In the centenary year of the signing of the Treaty of Versailles, and the Peace celebrations that followed in Doncaster and across the country, this project remembers the stories of those who fought, those who refused to fight, and those left behind.

Belly Hardy, Findlay Napier and Greg Russell present an intimate evening of storytelling and song, inspired by stories from the archives, and those collected from Doncaster people through 1914-18.

The first performance in May 2019 was a special Museums at Night show at Cusworth Hall in Doncaster where the work was presented with projections from visual art specialist Wayne Sables, bringing to life the personal stories and original objects which inspired the songs.

This show was followed in June with a short run of dates in Doncaster, Shrewsbury and London.
