The Duke of Wellington’s March
[trad. arr. Brinsford / Carthy / Evans / Kirkpatrick / Williams]
Brass Monkey played this tune in 2004 on their fifth album, Flame of Fire. John Kirkpatrick commented in the record’s sleeve notes:
The Duke of Wellington’s March was found lurking in the manuscripts of Shropshire fiddler John Moore, who wrote out a few books of tunes around the late 1830s. Gordon Ashman prepared a selection from them for publication by Dragonfly Music in 1991 as The Ironbridge Hornpipe.
