Finale: An Evening With Topic Records TXCD824D (2 CD, UK, 7 October 2016) |
In February 2007 the original members of Pentangle received a BBC Radio 2 Lifetime Achievement Award from Sir David Attenborough. On 29 June 2008, exactly 40 years since the recording of their monumental live album Sweet Child at the Royal Festival Hall, they returned to the very same venue to begin their first British tour since 1973.
Finale was recorded live during the 2008 tour and sees the original line-up revisit their classic repertoire. The beautifully recorded and packaged 2 CD set captures the band in a series of scintillating performances. Bert Jansch supervised the mixing and sequencing and John Renbourn prepared the album masters before their untimely deaths in 2011 and 2015 respectively.
Produced by Paul Smith;
Sequence by Bert Jansch;
