Dedicated to the memory of Trevor Lucas
(25.12.1943 - 4.2.1989)

Trevor George Lucas, born in Melbourne, Australia, was one of Australia’s most underrated folk talents. He recorded several albums, and produced albums for artists and bands such as Sandy Denny, Fairport Convention, Redgum and The Bushwackers. Also a co-founder of Fotheringay and a member of Fairport, his impact on the folk scene must not be underestimated. This page attempts to explain a little about Trevor’s musical career.

Many thanks to the following persons: Levent Varlik from Turkey for his really massive material support (kilos of it, literally!) and his encouragement, Martin Jonas from the U.K. for his research, his substantial additions to the discography and for supporting me; John Penhallow of the Australian Friends of Folk for supporting me with lots of information and feedback, and most of all, Elizabeth Hurtt-Lucas for her support, proof reading & for allowing me to run this page in the first place. Many thanks to Christopher Dolmetsch, David Raddatz, Tony Rees, “Moggles”, and Tony Swift for posting info to the Sandy Denny Mailing List.

I gratefully acknowledge the assistance of Fiddlestix magazine, Hokey Pokey magazine, and John C. Falstaff for allowing me to use and reprint their articles.

The former site of these Trevor Lucas Web pages had been up from January 1996 until July 1998 when these pages moved here. A great many thanks to Willem Doornkamp for starting and maintaining this fantastic site for such a long time!
