Sandy Denny: One Way Donkey Ride
[Sandy Denny]
This rather morbid song was released on Sandy’s last album, Rendezvous. The musicians were Jerry Donahue: electric guitar; Sandy Denny: acoustic guitar; Steve Winwood: electric piano and organ; Pat Donaldson: bass; Timi Donald: drums; and Sue Glover and Sunny Leslie: backing vocals. This track was later included in Who Knows Where the Time Goes, The Best of Sandy Denny, and on the 2CD anthology No More Sad Refrains.
Sandy recorded a demo of this song at home in Byfield in March 1976; she accompanied herself on 12 string guitar. This track was included in the bonus CD of the Fledg’ling Sandy Denny anthology A Boxful of Treasures.
