Sweet Rosemary
[Sandy Denny]
There exist three versions of this song:
- A demo with Sandy playing guitar was recorded at The Manor, Oxfordshire in spring 1972 and released on the Sandy Denny box sets Who Knows Where the Time Goes? and A Boxful of Treasures, and as a bonus track of the 2005 CD reissue of Sandy. The mastering speed on the two latter tracks is slightly different.
- The full studio version was recorded a few weeks later and released on her second solo album, Sandy. Sandy sang and played guitar and was accompanied by Richard Thompson (autoharp?) and Dave Swarbrick. This version also appears on The Best of Sandy Denny.
- A live version recorded at the Paris Theatre, London, on 16 March 1972 for BBC “Radio 1 in Concert” and broadcast on 25 March 1972 was released in 1997 on The BBC Sessions 1971-73 and in 2007 on the 3CD+DVD set Live at the BBC.
