No One Stands Alone

[Mosie Lister]

Mosie Lister wrote this gospel hymn in 1955. Jimmie Davis recorded it in 1960 for a Vocalion single and Elvis Presley sang it on bis 1967 album How Great Thou Art. In 2002, it was the title track of Blue Murder’s album No One Stands Alone.

Lyrics

Blue Murder sing No One Stands Alone

Chorus (after each verse):
Hold my hand all the way
Every hour, every day
From here to the great unknown
Take my hand, let me stand
Where no one stands alone

Once I stood in the night with my head bowed low
In the darkness as black as could be
And my heart felt alone and I cried, "Oh, Lord
Don’t turn you face from me."

Like a king I may live in a palace so tall
With great riches to call my own
But I don’t know a thing in this whole wide world
That’s worse than being alone

(Repeat first verse)
