It’s Sandy Denny
It’s Sandy Denny Saga EROS 8153 (LP, UK, 1970) |
While this album is called Sandy Danny on the record sleeve and spine, the name on the record label is It’s Sandy Denny.
The album was supposed to be a compilation of the songs with Sandy Denny singing lead vocals from the sessions for Alex Campbell and His Friends and Sandy and Johnny. However, 3:10 to Yuma, Pretty Polly, Milk and Honey, The Last Thing on My Mind, and Make Me a Pallet on Your Floor are alternative versions published here for the first time (and later in 2005 on the CD Where the Time Goes).

- 3:10 to Yuma (3.19)
- Pretty Polly (Roud 15; Laws P36B) (2.35)

This Train Mooncrest MOON 54 (single, UK, 1978?) |
Recorded in 1967 at Saga Studios, Hampstead by Marcel Rodd.
Again, this ia a reissue of Sandy’s solo vocal tracks from Alex Campbell and His Friends and Sandy and Johnny, but unfortunately, differing from the previous two compilations, this one has replaced Sandy’s version of Been on the Road So Long with Alex Campbell’s where Sandy is singing backing vocals only. However, a new track is My Ramblin’ Boy. The 1991 Mooncrest CD is a direct copy of the original LPs including pops and crackles.
The same album has been reissued one more time in 2003 with the title Heritage. The tracks here are of better quality; they seem to come from (the master?) tapes.
Tracks:
Side 1
- This Train (Roud 6702) (2.08)
- 3:10 to Yuma (3.41)
- Pretty Polly (Roud 15; Laws P36B) (3.00)
